Wild Turtle doesn't have an address, it is located 8 km South-East of Assilah or 40km South of Taniger and the Gibraltar Strait.
The Land is located in the countryside right below the village Douar Houmr on the way to Douar Sidi El Yamani.

You will find below all the tips to get to Wild Turtle
Your best airport destination is Tangier although you can also come to Casablanca or Rabat if you have a fair price.
We suggest to take the ferry from Tarifa to Tangier City.
Ferries from Algeciras or Malaga will take you to Tangier MED, a new industrial port located 1h east drive from Tangier where you will need to find your way.
If you are planning a long stay at Wild turtle, we suggest you rent a car for more flexibility.
To do your errands in Assilah, go to the beach or the several sites and acivitites around it is easier to have you own car.
You can find car rental agencies at Tangier Ibn Batouta Airport, in Tagier City or in Assilah. We don't wave one to recommend especially.
Price ranges from 25-35€/day for a regular small car.
To arrive in Douar Houmr (Village of Homar)
There is a 6km (10min) car drive on the national road in the direction of the city of Larache.
There is then a 3km, 10min car drive (or 30min walk) on the counryside road in the direction of Sidi El Yamani.

Go in the direction of Sidi el Yamani and Douar Houmr.
Pass under the train tracks in a cement tunnel.
Go up the hill and at the first junction, continue straight.
You arrive at the next junction where you have a forest to the left and a track leading to Douar Houmr to your right (without seeing it too much), continue straight in direction of Sidi El Yamani (road sign).
The track then curves down slightly to the right. You will see an industrial chicken farm to your left, these are our neighbours.
Continue 200m you will see a big field with a well to your right, take the next track to the left.
Continue up 100m and go to the left.
You will be in front of a dark green gate.
Honk, knock or call us to come open the door. The dogs are friendly.
If you need to ask the way to people, ask for « Ismael's farm », « Khadija's Farm » or « Pepe’s Finca ».
Alternatively you can follow « Darnolé » guesthouse signs, they are our next door neighboors.

Taxis are recognizable from the city they oppperate in by the colour of the car.
Big taxis can be taken from one city to another, either privately (you pay the whole taxi) or collectively (you wait for the taxi to be full with 6 persons to start).
Small taxis can only drive in the city and can board 3 people maximum.

You have to take a collective taxi in the direction of the city of Larache, but don't go until Larache, be attentive when is the exit from the national road!
You have to ask the driver to stop so you can get down at the exit from the national road to the village of Homar, Douar Houmr.
The price of the taxi to Larache is around 20-25dh, it is possible to bargain it to 10dh saying you stop at Douar Houmr.
Price : 100-150dh
If you wish to take a private taxi alone (meaning the same taxi without waiting for the taxi to fill-up with people), the taxi driver will ask you for around 150dh.
You can take a Private Taxi from the train station (150dh) or from Assilah (100dh). Prices are not fixed.

There are 3 trains per day.

You have to go to either place and ask to find a collective taxi for Assilah. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for the sufficient number of people to arrive (6 people), it is normally quite quick. You pay upfront to the driver.

The collective taxi vans are generally big white Mercedes vans.
They are fast and sometimes just yell « Assilah, Assilah! » at people waiting at the side of the road. So be visible and make yourself available.
Pay the fare to the driver's help during the trip.

If you wish to take a private taxi alone, meaning the same taxi without waiting for the taxi to fill-up with 6 people. You can ask to the driver to take you alone.
You can then ask the river to take you to the Wild turtle directly by showing him the location and telling Douar Houmr as a destination.
The price will depend from where you start. A good price is between 200-300dh.

The national road from Tangier to Assilah is free and show nice shightseeing while the highway is 11dh.

To avoid uncomfortable situations with transport persons, be sure to always ask the price first, insist if the person doesn’t want to say it!
Also in Morocco you can bargain almost everything so don’t hesitate to discuss the prices.
